WordPress Custom Url
One way to benefit from WordPress is to use the custom URL feature. Customization of the Permalink, or URL, in WordPress is very easy to do. Simply navigate to Settings > General in your WordPress main back end, and create your selection in the permalinks setting screen:
Step Two – Search For Other Custom Urls When you are in the Permalink structure screen, you will see a search box with three options: search by word, search by URL or custom word/url. Click on the “search by the word” option to search for keywords contained in the URL of an article you have recently read on the internet. A word search will pull up relevant websites where similar articles have been published.
The “search by URL” option is useful when you want to create a custom URL for a website that is not publicly-known, and you don’t know the exact word or URL. Customizing the Permalink structure in WordPress with a custom word or URL will make it possible for your readers to find the information you want. You can also do this to allow for more organic traffic to your content by allowing readers to click on your custom word/url instead of typing the long domain URL.
Step Three – Use WordPress Custom URL Plugin If you don’t like the above step and want to keep your WordPress custom url secret, there is a third option: install a WordPress plugin called wordpress-permalink. Simply go to the WordPress download section, find, and install the WordPress plugin. Plugins such as these are not required, but they do speed up installation of your WordPress site. And they keep your permalinks secret. Some plugins are free, others are payable.
Step Four – View URL in a New Window/tab When you have installed/activated the WordPress plugin, you’ll need to activate your permalinks. Simply open up your web browser and go to Appearance in the menu bar at the top right corner of your screen. Select All in One Post and choose Insert in the URL box. When your Permalink settings have been applied, you can view your new WordPress custom url in any web-browser window.
Step Five – Change the Default WordPress Permalink WordPress allows you to change the default WordPress Permalink setting which displays the current page at the bottom of your screen. To see how to custom permalinks in WordPress, simply add a blank line below your existing Permalink settings. Type or paste your desired URL address. Replace any spaces with dots (.)
Step Six – Change the Default WordPress Permalink If you want to change the default WordPress Permalink setting, you will need to click on the edit icon next to the publish icon. This will take you to the Permalink’s editor. Here you can enter a new custom post-type name, enter a description, add your keywords, title, and link to your site. When you are finished, you will be taken back to the publish page.
Step Seven – Change the WP Meta tag You can change the WP Meta tag to display a custom WordPress website in a specific format. This will change the default WordPress behavior and allow your posts to be displayed in a more descriptive format that search engines can understand. You will need to visit the WordPress plug-in manager to change your default keywords and rewrite rules. You can also learn more about how to pretty girls in WordPress.
